In our showroom, which is an antique colonial in historic Kent, CT, we began some restorations projects and this one gave us a nice surprise!
When we decided to restore the kitchen flooring we knew there was some original Douglas-fir wood flooring underneath that we were sure was at least 95 years old. After pulling up the old vinyl floor and sanding off the glue and some water stains – this was the result!
A beautiful, “looks-like-new” wood floor.
So, as you can see, wood flooring truly is a lifetime investment in your home. With some sanding and a fresh coat of poly we had our old floor looking like a Spring Chicken! The minor damage was easily fixed and proves that wood flooring will last a very long time! Whether you’re building a new home, or upgrading some rooms in your existing home- consider wood flooring.
In addition to its longevity, wood definitely increases the value of your home, offers a much healthy alternative to rugs and can be easier to maintain if you have children, pets and a busy lifestyle.
Give us a call and we will get you on the right track to finding the perfect wood floor for your lifestyle.
